easyinsure.co.uk has been nominated as one of the finalists in two categories at the annual insurance awards to be held in London on the 10th of September. The awards for "Technology" and "E Business" reflect the innovative way that easyinsure and its parent company MCL Insurance Services have revolutionised the distribution of insurance in the Northern Irish Market through the development and implementation of its own purpose built software platform.

Managing Director, Gary McClarty explained "When we entered the Northern Irish Market we knew it had to be via an e-commerce route as this was the way the market was moving. Our aim on entering the market was to use technology to reduce costs that could be passed onto the customer. Unfortunately when we reviewed the systems available at the time they did not meet our requirements. As a result we embarked on a 3 year project to build our own system and this has recently been completed. Not only does our system give customers full control in terms of making adjustments and renewing policies online but the real strengthen is what happens behind the scenes. The system automates the full payment, letter printing and accounting functions as well as developing real-time links to our partner insurers. When we now look at comparable companies in terms of policy count our system allows us to administer the account with 75% less staff. These massive savings are passed onto our customers in terms of lower insurance premiums"
